Would you like to join MCEMS Auxiliary? To become a member of the Auxiliary you must be a state certified Paramedic, EMT, or First Responder with current certifications, to include a current AHA CPR card. An application can be downloaded from this site below, obtained from the President, or from the Manatee County Personnel Department. Some additional requirements will include:
Other benefits of joining include:
These and other opportunities are available to MCEMS Auxiliary members. Uniforms will be provided by the county. How often and when can you ride with the crews? You can ride from 10 hours to 24 hours, the choice is yours. But do consider that if you have an appointment the day you ride, the crews cannot guarantee that they will be at the station by the time you have to leave. Some days you may not return to the station for hours. But if you are running late to leave, supervision can help you at getting you back to the station. You can ride any day of the week, time and or shift. Once you have decided on the time and day, you will call the on duty Captain and schedule your ride time (24hrs in advance). If you prefer a specific station or crew, you may want to call ahead and schedule your time to ensure you get the station or crew. On duty Captain will place riders at requested station if applicable. Be aware that new employee's and EMT/Paramedic students have priority. Below is the application for employment to the Auxiliary and it is in a PDF format. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat Reader please click here to download it free from Adobe. Thanks and good luck.
